About the Event:
That Thing Called “Blogging” is an event open for students and young professional who wants to be a blogger and enhance more of their blogging skills.
Objectives:
- To guide new bloggers in their blogging journey.
- To share our experiences in blogging (past, present, future)
- To encourage others to share their experiences so we can learn from each other
- To invite them in our next series and feedback about how we can do better

Keynote Speakers and Topics:
- Mayeth Manza – Journey of Writing
Marieta “Mayette” Manza has an extensive background in communication materials production, administration, research and teaching/training. She is a graduate of BS Development Communication and Master’s degree in Development Management from UPLB. She has worked with national and international organizations in varied capacities. Currently, she is doing freelance writing and is a contributor to Scripture Union, Art Malaysia Magazine and other publications, while helping promote a travel agency based in Bohol.
- Mico Medel – How to Create a Good Content of Blog Articles
Geordam “Mico” Medel is currently a Confederate Associate/Corporate & Community Maven at Vertical Parallel, a group that dedicates their product and services in adding value to every organization by increasing their channel output through people development. Mico is also an accredited trainer/facilitator of Lead Like Jesus, a global leadership development organization that promises a leadership model that transformed you and those you influence.
- Renz Simpao – Simple Hacks/Tools to Kickstart a Productive Day in Blogging
Renato “Renz” Simpao Jr. is a geek in inbound marketing and he built the Thinkable Box – “A Personal Development and Creativity Management Blog” located in Philippines in year 2015. In addition, He has a degree in Bachelor of Science in Business Management major in Marketing Management at Cavite State University. He also believes that to make your life successful, build a sustainable creative culture.
- Ched Dayot – Finding Your Niche, Personal Branding and Building a Community
She is a graduate of Mass Communication Major in Broadcast Journalism. She works for a start-up company on weekdays, a full-time MBA student on weekends, and on her free time, a freelance professional focusing on marketing, public relations, social media and events.
- Joseph Pagtananan – How I fell In Love With Blogging
Joseph A. Pagtananan is a chemical engineer by profession and blogger by passion. He currently works as the Pollution Control Officer of UPLB while taking up his graduate study in MS Environmental Science. He is known as “Doctor Eamer” in the online world. His blog was recognized and awarded as one of the Top 10 Emerging Influential Blogs for 2015 during the 7th Edition of Digital Influencers Marketing Summit. He is the author of the “love-changing” book, LOVE is BLOG.
